Our Boys Golf team made the most of their third trip in four years to the highly competitive State Tournament held last weekend at Ohio State University’s Scarlet course.
As the only other Central Ohio team in the 12-team field, Liberty shot a 308 in both rounds for a total of 616 to earn the runner-up trophy. They finished 12 strokes ahead of third place finisher Green High School. Dublin Jerome won the title by shooting a course-record 607.
The Patriots were lead by Senior Trey Rath who shot a 147 for the second best score in the tournament and made first team All-State. Also competing for Liberty’s team were Cole Corder, Jacob Hickman, Josh Steyer, and Grant Smeltzer. Coach Ryan Snivley said. “These boys will forever have special memories from this weekend. Their well deserved accomplishment is a result of all of their hard work”.
