Liberty’s Winter Sports teams had an outstanding weekend as tournament action is in full swing. Here are some of the top highlights.

Girls Basketball – Beat New Albany 51-41 to become Sectional Champions. They will play Eastmoor Academy on Wednesday February 28th in a District Semi-Final game 7:00pm at New Albany High School.

Diving – Freshman Jack Matthews finished 3rd at the State Dive Meet Championships in Canton.

Boys Bowling – Senior Daniel Valz has qualified as an individual for the District Bowling Championship on Saturday March 3rd at HP Lanes.

Girls Swimming – Finished in 10th place as a team in the State Championship Meet. Senior Abby Noonan, Senior Rachel Peroni, Junior Lila Leary, and Sophomore Kate Saczawa all reached the All-State podium in their respective events.

Gymnastics – Finished 8th out of 33 schools in the District Championship Meet scoring a team season best 129.71.

Boys Basketball – Defeated Hilliard Davidson 64-45 in an opening round tournament game. They will host Northland HS in Sectional Final game this Friday March 2nd at 7:00pm.

Ice Hockey – Beat St. Xavier 3-1 on Saturday night then defeated Moeller in a thrilling 5-4 come from behind win on Sunday to advance to the Elite 8. They will play Jerome on Saturday March 3rd 6:00pm at the Ice Haus for a spot in the State Final Four!

Wrestling – Finished in 3rd place as a team in the Sectional Tournament at Newark HS. Ten Patriots qualified for the District Meet this Friday March 2nd and Saturday March 3rd at Hilliard Darby HS.
