Olentangy Liberty Claims 8-1 Victory Over New Albany to advance to State Tournament
Olentangy Liberty asserted their will over New Albany on their way to an easy 8-1 victory
Olentangy Liberty pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Jack Metzger singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Olentangy Liberty notched four runs in the fifth inning. Corbin Parrish, Craig Lutwen, Connor Osmond, and Justin Nelson each drove in runs during the inning.
Metzger led the Olentangy Liberty to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out five and walking one.
Alex Arenschield took the loss for New Albany. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out three.
Olentangy Liberty totaled 12 hits. Carson Comer, Parrish, and Brennan Rowe each managed multiple hits for Olentangy Liberty. Rowe, Parrish, and Comer each collected two hits to lead Olentangy Liberty.
Olentangy Liberty will face Medina Highland next Friday at 10:00am at Huntington Park in a State Semi-Final game. Go Patriots!!
